Florida Allied Dental Educators (FADE) is an organization composed of Florida allied dental educators dedicated to raising awareness of the allied dental professions: Dental Hygiene, Dental Assisting & Dental Laboratory Technology, and increasing communication and coordination among the institutions that educate new members of the allied dental professions.
FADE annual meetings provide an opportunity for in-person networking with other educators, courses in teaching methodology, and more! Come get those CEs and make some friends! Our 2025 meeting will be hosted by State College of Florida in Ocala.
The FADE Higher Education Scholarship Award recognizes and honors outstanding members from each Membership Section of the organization pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree. There are award recipients selected from both the Dental Hygiene Section and the Dental Assisting/Dental Laboratory Technology Section of FADE during each awar
The FADE Higher Education Scholarship Award recognizes and honors outstanding members from each Membership Section of the organization pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree. There are award recipients selected from both the Dental Hygiene Section and the Dental Assisting/Dental Laboratory Technology Section of FADE during each award year based upon the eligibility status of the applicants and a fully submitted, qualifying application.
FADE members can also apply for a scholarship award recognizing scholarly excellence in for professional development activities. Check out the application below!

Cindy Clements is the current Dental Hygiene President for FADE. She has been a licensed Florida dental hygienist since 2005, and a dental hygiene educator for fifteen years. Cindy has had the privilege of teaching in several dental hygiene programs, including Palm Beach State College, Broward College, and currently Daytona State College. She is passionate about teaching in the profession that has changed her life. She upholds the ideals that sharing, encouraging, and supporting each other, through our association, can enrich our programs, our colleagues, as well as the students we teach; and the Florida Allied Dental Educator's association gives us this opportunity.

I am Betsy Boggie, a BA graduate of the University of Connecticut ’85 and a CRDH graduate of Palm Beach State College ’96. For the past eight years I have been working as an adjunct instructor at PBSC and enjoy helping students learn to be skilled and ethical dental hygienists. I have worked in various private practice settings as a DA and a CRDH for over 40 years. When I am not in a clinic, I enjoy being a volunteer for Special Olympics/Special Smiles events and I love spending time with my husband Gordon, my English Pointer Arrow and many dear friends and family.

The Higher Education Scholarship Award recognizes and honors outstanding individual(s) in each of the two categories:
Undergraduate: Adjunct instructor pursuing an undergraduate degree
or
Graduate: Instructor (adjunct or full-time) pursuing a graduate degree.
Each recipient will receive one Scholarship from the FADE Scholarship Fund. In the event of no one applying for one of the scholarship categories, then the committee may choose to award two (2) scholarships in one category (the fund allows $900.00 total).
All current members of FADE are eligible to apply for the Higher Education Scholarship Awards. Past recipients are not eligible for three years since their last award. Winners will be notified by November 1, 2024 and award(s) will be presented via mail and recipients will be recognized at the FADE Annual Meeting. All application packets (application form, photograph, professional summary, and resume) should be directly submitted via email, to Betsy Boggie with the email subject line reading Undergraduate or Graduate depending on the award for which you are applying.

All application packets and letters of recommendation must be received by 8:00 AM September 30, 2024. Applicants will receive an e-mail confirming that their packet has been received.
